University of Utah University theater records 1955-1977 1961-1964

Academic theater activities at the University of Utah began in 1895 and remained in the Speech Department until 1962 when a separate Department of Theatre and Ballet was formed. In 1965 this department was divided into a Department of Theatre and a Department of Ballet and Modern Dance. Professional theater productions have taken place in Kingsbury Hall and in the Pioneer Memorial Theater. This collection contains records of professional productions as well as from University academic theater programs.
